Leading the fight for LGBTQ+ rights.
The #queerlivesmatter movement was founded in response to the systemic oppression and discrimination faced by LGBTQ+ individuals. It is part of the broader Black Lives Matter movement and builds on its foundation to specifically address issues faced by the queer community and is formally led by Queer Lives Matter Inc. The organization calls to action for individuals and organizations to stand up against discrimination and advocate for the rights and well-being of LGBTQ+ individuals. We achieve this by informing on queer issues and events and establishing a community of individuals and organizations who work together towards a common goal of fighting against systemic discrimination and oppression of LGBTQ+ people.
Our organization is dedicated to advancing the rights and equality of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) individuals and communities. We work to create a world where LGBTQ+ people are valued, respected, and embraced for who they are, without discrimination or prejudice.
We strive to achieve our mission by promoting LGBTQ+ visibility, education, and advocacy. We support and empower LGBTQ+ individuals to live their lives authentically and to thrive in all aspects of their lives, including in their families, schools, workplaces, and communities.
Our vision is a world where LGBTQ+ individuals and communities are fully embraced and celebrated for who they are, and where they can live their lives without fear of discrimination, violence, or oppression.
In this world, LGBTQ+ people have equal access to opportunities and resources, and are able to thrive in all aspects of their lives, including in their families, schools, workplaces, and communities. They are valued and respected for their unique perspectives and contributions, and are able to express their identities without shame or stigma.
